Working together

Planto is Mark Plant and Junior Maia - a designer and a researcher, partners in work and life, based on the edge of the Lake District.

Mark brings over sixteen years solving complex design problems - from capital markets trading platforms at Lab49, through eight years building products and brand at fintech startup Previse. He's the one who digs into problems, sketches solutions, and ships working things rather than just decks about things.

Junior handles the business side - research, outreach, and keeping projects on track. With a background in law and business, he's the one who reads the contracts, asks the awkward questions, and makes sure we're actually answering the brief. He keeps things straight.

We work remotely from a village in the fells near Ullswater, with a dog who demands long walks whatever the weather, which turns out to be excellent for making time to think through problems. No London overhead, no distractions - just the countryside, work and a Vizsla.

We established Planto Creative Solutions in 2023 as a vehicle for the occasional side project. Now we're taking on more work - bringing years of experience across advertising, finance, and technology to people with ideas worth building.
